Agriculture, Food security and Markets expert
Dr. Faith Toroitich is a researcher in the field of sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation.
Her research spans across integrated crop pest and diseases management and sustainable utilization of
agricultural resources including bee products. Dr. Toroitich combines experience and interest in food
systems that focus on sustainability and resilience in the face of climate change. She has experience
working with farmer groups with a strong emphasis on inclusivity in group composition. She has carried
out various farmer capacity building programmes in Siaya and Nakuru Counties under the Kenya
Climate Smart Agriculture Project (KCSAP) and National Agriculture and Rural Inclusive Growth Project
(NARIGP) respectively. As a lead consultant. She has also carried out food security studies in Baringo and
Elgeyo Marakwet counties as part of the AWSC consortium. Additionally, Faith has participated in round
table discussions and writing of Oped articles advocating for safe use of pesticides in agriculture in order
to protect beneficial organisms in the environment under the Route to Food Initiative. She has also been
a Trainer of Trainers for Nakuru Plant doctors under CABI’s Plantwise programme. Dr Totroitich has
given various presentations and talks and published in scientific journals. Her strengths lie in capacity
building, project conceptualization and coordination, field data collection, analysis, presentation and
reporting.
